Non-oil exports exceed $9b in 4 months

TEHRAN, Aug. 1 (MNA) -- Non-oil exports from Iran, gas condensates included, in the first 4 months of the current calendar year (began March 21) reached $9.145 billion, up 21 percent compared to the same period last year.

 Meanwhile, imports in the same time span show a 17 percent rise and add up to $18.449 billion, the Mehr News Agency wrote citing a report by Iran’s Customs Administration.

 The exports have increased 22 percent in weight in the period and reached 20.62 million tons.

 The report also indicated that the imported consignments during this time weighed 14.7 million tons, down 10.7 percent year on year.

 The major exported item was $471 million worth of liquefied propane, comprising 6 percent of the total non-oil exports.

 In the mentioned period, China was the main importer of non-oil Iranian goods, purchasing $1.3 billion or 16 percent of the total.      

 Iraq ranked the second with $1.25 billion worth of imports.

 During this period, the UAE was also the key exporter to Iran with 30 percent share of the exports.

 China, Germany, South Korea and Turkey were second to fifth, respectively, accounting for 8.9, 8.5, 6.3 and 6.1 percent of the exports to Iran.
